DPDP Act Clarificatory Amendments on Consent and Data Audits

Clarificatory and drafting corrections introduced to align the text of the DPDP Act with its intended meaning.

Making two focused corrections to the DPDP Act:

1) clarifying the verifiable-consent requirement for processing digital personal data of children and a person with disability who have lawful guardians; and

2) specifying that the periodic audit required of Significant Data Fiduciaries is a “data audit”.
