Broader Exemptions for Priority Sector Lending Shortfall Deposits

Brief Overview:

With immediate effect, deposits maintained with NABARD due to shortfall in achieving priority sector lending (PSL) targets are excluded from exposure limits under the Large Exposures Framework (LEF). The RBI has now extended this exemption to similar contributions made by scheduled commercial banks to NHB, SIDBI, MUDRA Ltd., or any other entity specified by the RBI.
